Privacy

This site keeps track of how people use it, so I can see what works and fix what doesn’t. Here is what that means in practice.

Pages and clicks

Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, counts the pages you open and a few things you do: which room of the game you walk into, which story you read, which button you press. It sees your browser, your device and roughly which city you are in. It does not know your name. I use it to learn what people read and where they stop.

Screen recordings

Microsoft Clarity records anonymous sessions and builds heatmaps: where the pointer goes, what gets tapped, how far down a page people scroll. Anything you type in the chat or the contact form is masked in your browser before the recording is sent, so it shows blank boxes instead of your words.

The chat

Your questions go to Anthropic’s API, which writes the answers. The conversation stays in a session at Anthropic so each answer remembers the ones before it; Anthropic keeps it under its own privacy policy. On this site’s server I keep a random ID (the visitor cookie) that links your browser to that session, the language you picked and how many questions you have asked, which is how the chat’s limits work. For the same limits your IP address is counted, and those counts are cleared after about a day. The words you type are not saved in this site’s database. Your browser keeps the conversation until you close the tab.

The contact form

Your name, email and message are emailed to me. The site does not store them. To keep spam out, it counts messages per IP address for an hour.

Cookies

Google Analytics and Clarity set their own cookies to tell one visit from the next. The site sets two: lang, which remembers the language you chose, and visitor, the chat’s random ID. Light or dark mode is saved in your browser.

What I don’t do

I don’t sell your data, I don’t show ads, and I don’t share anything for marketing.
